Happy Holidays from the Teddy's Transportation System Family of Companies
Dear $field_5 $field_6:
Thanks to valued customers like you, 2011 has been another outstanding year for the Teddy's Transportation System family of companies. Hartford County-based King Limousine joined the fold a year ago, enabling us to extend a valuable mid-state presence to corporations we already serve in Fairfield County.
This year Teddy's was recognized as one of the top 3 operators of a mid-sized fleet nationwide, and we we were selected as a Finalist for our industry's most prestigious award, LCT Magazine's 2011 Operator of the Year. We also made the Inc. Magazine list of the 5000 fastest growing companies in the country again this year.
But as we have emphasized time and again, it is the pride in every ride, not the awards, that motivates us day in and day out. We'll do whatever it takes to earn your trust: one customer at a time, one ride at a time, one mile at a time. You've told us you especially appreciate these "Teddy's only" perks:
- ONLY truly responsive fuel-pegged surcharge in the industry (which was just lowered in October)!
- NO predawn or after-midnight surcharge
- First hour free wait time at airports
- Industry-best two-hour cancellation window
- GPS Navigation on all vehicles; WiFi available
- Safer, roomier more productive Lincoln MKT Town Cars
- Mystery rider check-ups to ensure our chauffeurs excel at delivering the Teddy's Experience to our clients
- In-depth background checks on every new chauffeur we hire to ensure absolute security for our clients
- Teddy's Platinum Reward Miles good towards free rides, dining and lifestyle gifts.
Teddy's is big enough to provide a deep bench of polished professionals, robust responsiveness, and the technology you need (like online booking, mid-trip changes, on-site mobile alerts, and a global network) – but small enough to provide the personal, white-glove support you require. And we're proud to maintain an on-time record in excess of 99%. What can we do to enhance your travel experience in 2012?
Wherever and whenever you travel, at Teddy's you can either choose to book your ride online or call our reservation center (800.888.3339) to speak with one of our trained customer service representatives in Norwalk, CT (from overseas, call 203.866.2231). Thank you for choosing Teddy's!

Business Travel News
Millennials and Gen X Professionals Take to the Road
A new survey from Deloitte reports that 85% of business travelers expect to take more or the same number of trips in 2012. Interestingly, the survey details a generation gap on several fronts: 27% of those in the 18-44 age bracket expect to take more trips, compared to 16% of those 45 and older.
While the majority of business travelers feel experiences with hotels operating under the same brand differ by location, Millennials and Gen X professionals tend to be more brand-loyal than Boomers. The 18-44 group places a premium on free internet access, WiFi and high-tech amenities such as check-in kiosks, and often work in the lobby or other common area.
LCT Magazine editor Martin Romjue observed that an extension of Gen X and Y's penchant for advanced technology will likely emerge as a preference for the sleek new Lincoln MKT Town Car.

In a recent interview with Romjue, Teddy's president Charles Wisniewski noted that MKTs, which now comprise about half of our fleet, have provided more safety, technology and comfort than the Lincoln Town Car, which is no longer being produced. Unlike many of our competitors, Teddy's has once again been an industry leader, embracing the MKT as the future of chauffeured ground transportation.
"Business executives love the MKT's onboard technology suite. They get in the car to work; they plug in their electronics and they're delighted. They feel safer. They like the ride, the comfort and the productivity," Charles said.

Travel Tidbits
••• The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) continues to partner with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP), American Airlines and Delta Airline to test a voluntary passenger pre-flight screening initiative at four airports. Qualifying frequent flyers with those carriers and certain members of CBP's Trusted Traveler programs (including Global Entry, SENTRI and NEXUS) who are U.S. citizens are eligible to participate. If you are not already eligible through your airline or a member of one of the Trusted Traveler programs you can still apply (get information at http://www.globalentry.gov). The TSA website has information about which checkpoints to use in participating airports (Atlanta, Dallas, Detroit, and Miami); airports in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Minneapolis are slated to be added to the test in early 2012.
••• When American Airlines filed for bankruptcy protection at the end of November, there was much speculation about whether a merger with U.S. Airways might follow. (American said it would operate flights, honor tickets and take reservations while it reorganizes.) Seth Kaplan, managing partner of Airline Weekly, said the filing was not a surprise, but the timing was, and hubs in Los Angeles and Chicago could be vulnerable. Industry analysts have observed that filing now, with ample unrestricted cash, will give American more control as it looks to renegotiate aircraft leases and contracts with pilots, who will likely see their pension plan restructured. American was the only major U.S. airline that did not seek bankruptcy after the September 11th attacks, and it has continued to lose money while other carriers have returned to profitability.
••• The Associated Press reports that the 50-seat jets, 34-seat turboprops and other small aircraft that connect America's smaller cities are being slowly phased out as fuel costs have soared and made the flights unprofitable. The Airports Council International says 27 small airports have lost service from commercial carriers over the last two years, and more shutdowns are planned. Travelers now must drive or take buses to larger airports. (Call Teddy's if you need assistance!) Delta, Continental and American Eagle were moving aggressively to ground flights served by smaller planes.

Teddy's News
Teddy's is Giving More... Once again this holiday season, Teddy's has decided to contribute to a worthy nonprofit organization in lieu of sending gifts to clients. This year's holiday gift will go to the Autism Spectrum Resource Center (ASRC), which provides much-needed support services for families of individuals on the autism spectrum.
Teddy's also provided free van transportation for children's toys from a client collection site to its party for 275 underprivileged children at Stepping Stones Museum in Norwalk. Participating agencies included NEON, Family & Children's Agency, Norwalk Housing Authority, and Norwalk Collaborative for Youth Services.
This Thanksgiving, Teddy's once again delivered a car-load of turkeys to the Manna House of Hospitality at the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk. In 2011 Teddy's total gifts to charities exceeded $12,000.
Travels with Charlie... Teddy's President Charles Wisniewski and key members of our staff were on-site at the beautiful Glen Island Harbor Club in New Rochelle for the annual corporate holiday party for a long-time client. With attendance approaching 1,000, Teddy's flawlessly coordinated about 75 rides for executives and customers to and from New York area airports, New York City, and residences in Fairfield and Westchester Counties. All this was was in addition to the expanded rides for a busy Friday evening during the holiday season! We're big enough when you need us...
On January 10, Teddy's will sponsor the monthly meeting of the Connecticut Westchester Chapter of the Business Travel Association (CWBTA). Let us know if you are interested in attending. Charles has also enjoyed participating in the prestigious Leadership Greater Hartford.
New Dispatcher Brings Industry Legacy to Work... We are delighted to welcome Gina Gouveia as a dispatcher on the busy 3-11pm shift. Gina comes from a family much like the Wisniewskis, and she knows how to deliver the exceptional kind of Teddy's Experience our clients deserve and expect.
In a story much like ours, Gina's father and grandmother founded County Limousine in Westchester in the 1940's and grew the business as industry migrated to the county. Gina and her sister worked in the business, which served corporate executives and distinguished celebrities. The White Plains-based firm was sold to Carey Limousine in the late 1990's.
Gina graduated from Sarah Lawrence College and began her career working for a boutique hotel in Westchester. She later worked for the president of Manhattanville College and spent a dozen years in the hedge fund industry. Most recently, she has been working as the administrator for the Westfield chapter of Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
Gina's a huge advocate of making a difference through volunteering, knows Manhattan inside-out, and loves cooking, wines, taking care of needy animals and spending time with family. You'll love how she responds quickly to your needs.
Teddy's Staff Competes... Teddy's Reservation Specialist Gloria Martinez ran a respectable 5K race in 45 min 37 sec (9.07 mile pace) at Flushing Meadows on November 26, her first 5K road race since high school cross-country days in Buffalo (her best 5K time was 27 minutes). Gloria loves running and hopes to better her time next May in the RFR Corporate 5K race.

Gloria's husband, Teddy's GM John Martinez, had his own successful run in the MSN $1 Million Stock Portfolio Challenge. Although he missed the last week due to work demands, his virtual profits ranked him among the top 99.2 (about 6,000 out of 550,000 competitors).
At Teddy's annual holiday gathering later this week we will announce the 2011 winner and runners up in Teddy's Chauffeur of the Year competition. We'll share details in our February T-News, or find out who won sooner on our website news page.
Teddy Wisniewski IV Wins 2011 Karts Competition... Teddy Wisniewski IV dominated the local Karts scene in 2011, easily winning his Jr. Stock Division and laying down the fastest lap times of any driver in Norwalk Karting Association competition this year. He'll take a break from local racing until next fall, when his age will qualify him to move up to the Mediums adult division. Depending on sponsorship, Teddy would like to move into Legend Racing or Modified, according to his proud dad. Follow Teddy's progress on Facebook at team teddys Kart racing#86. If you'd like more information about this exciting sport, call Ted Wisniewski, at 1-800-888-3339 or e-mail him at ted.w@teddyslimo.com.
